The Nonprofit Search Tool was developed in response to donor requests for a broad list of pre-vetted community nonprofits that would help them and other philanthropists in making grant decisions.
After extensive testing, we found that while donors and other community members appreciated having a list available, donors were not using it to make grant decisions. In keeping with our function as a philanthropic innovation lab, we do not plan to update this tool at this time. You can still access the nonprofit search tool below.
Please note: All nonprofits featured in the database below received grants in 2017 or 2018 by at least one of the following foundations: Grove Foundation, Heising-Simons Foundation, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Peery Foundation, Sand Hill Foundation, Sobrato Family Foundation, or Sunlight Giving. There are other outstanding local nonprofits that have received grants from different funders or from these funders in other years.
